Healing with Intention
A gentle roadmap for healing your permanent art with intention and care. Your tattoo is an investment; our guide ensures it stays vibrant for a lifetime.
Understanding what to expect during the crucial first month of your tattoo’s life.
Keep the bandage on as instructed. Your skin is in its most vulnerable state.
Initial Protection
Wash with unscented cleanser. Air dry and apply a thin layer of balm.
Hydration Phase
Peeling and itching may occur. Do not pick or scratch. Clean twice daily.
Regeneration
Deep healing continues. Skin may look slightly cloudy. Keep it moisturized.
Settling In
Transition to daily maintenance and high-factor sun protection.
Lifetime Care
Always wash hands with antibacterial soap before touching your healing tattoo.
Wear loose-fitting, soft cotton clothing to avoid friction and allow the skin to breathe.
After washing, pat the area dry with a clean paper towel. Do not rub or use bath towels.
Keep your new tattoo out of the sun for at least 3 weeks. Sunburn on a new tattoo can cause scarring.
Avoid baths, pools, hot tubs, and oceans until your tattoo is fully peeled and healed.
Scabbing is normal. Picking scabs can pull ink out of your skin, leaving patchy spots.
Selected by our artists for their pure ingredients and proven healing properties.
This depends on the type of bandage used. Standard plastic wrap should stay on for 2–4 hours. Medical grade adhesive film (Second Skin) can stay on for 3–5 days unless it leaks or causes irritation. Always follow your specific artist’s instructions.
This is perfectly normal! Around the 2-week mark, your skin develops a new, thin layer of protective skin over the tattoo. This can temporarily make the colors look muted or milky. As it matures, the clarity will return.
We recommend waiting at least 48-72 hours before intense exercise. Sweat and gym equipment bacteria can lead to infection, and excessive movement can stress the healing skin, potentially leading to ink loss or blowouts.
